Tools of the trade

All photos shown here were taken using a SONY 2.1 Mega pixel Mavica MVC-FD97 digital still camera storing a whopping four pictures [at highest resolution] per floppy disk!

Here is a collection of photographs of tools (or toys) found in my old work place. I won't disclose where I worked. If you already know, then these pictures may seem cool. If you don't know where I worked, the pictures may just seem strange. To make things interesting, at least to me, items in the pictures are, hmmm, well, mismatched a bit.

Oh, this first picture, it's a head block. Looks confy don't it?!

Although this isn't so much a TOOL, finger printing is part of the job.
Here again, although not a TOOL, these are items we collect. Or are they items we USE to collect things. Hmmmm... Well, whatever. The picture is of specimens being readied for disposal.

Now some tools...
Now lets see... Above are...easy first: some scissors, forceps, a ruler. Is the bone saw easy to spot? The [hideous, hard to breath in, make you dizzy] face mask sitting on a biohazard bag. And then the fun ones. A pair of branch loppers or tree limb cutters or whatever you may call them (don't ask WHAT we use them for. Hmmm, or maybe DO ask.) and some Adson cranial rongeurs.

The latex glove cowers at the presence of the mighty scalpel.
Below, the ink roller (for inking fingers for printing) rests against the trusty SONY Mavica FD95 digital camera. And a skewed look at an autopsy station.

The cutting station sits ready for the day.
All tools set and in their proper place.
Weigh this...
Do we X-ray baby powder? Nah. The powder just makes putting on latex gloves a little easier.

The photographed items above include the never-stays-white towel, a toe tag and a tube of finger print ink. Then you see the skeletal hand (his name is Arthur) over the [very dirty, highly contaimnated, catch some nasty disease] computer keyboard. Test tube, urine cup, plastic tube and a urine Cocaine test stick (TesTstik) all sit as a group. Finally you see the joy juice -10% Formaline.
